Description

Lotus Root, or Kamal Kakdi, is a distinct-looking rhizome of the lotus plant. It is elongated, cylindrical in shape that might look like an elongated potato but with holes running through its flesh. The roots are typically 10-20cm in length and 2-5cm in diameter with multiple holes running through akin to a honeycomb structure. The root has light brownish to reddish-brown skin along with a creamy white flesh inside. It tastes mild and slightly sweet with a pinch of crunchiness when cooked.
