What is Dill?
A member of the Parsley & Celery family, Dill is native to Western Asia/ the Eastern Mediterranean region and is widely cultivated in India, Europe & North America. With fern-like dark green leaves, Dill is known for its fresh & citrusy herbaceous zing.

It is utilized in many cuisines across the globe for its grassy taste and medicinal properties: the ability to manage weight, reduce cholesterol levels and improve heart & bone health.

Things you didn’t know about Dill!
The word ‘Dill’ has an interesting etymology and is thought to have originated from the Norse word 'dylle', meaning ‘to soothe or lull’; for Dill is great for curing stomach ailments.

It dates back to almost 3000 BC where it is mentioned in Egyptian medical texts. The Egyptians used it to ward off evil and as an aphrodisiac; whereas, the Romans considered it to be a sign of good luck. The Greeks believed it to bring wealth.

Today, Dill is poised as an effective anti-bacterial, breath freshener and digestive. It is consumed in various forms (Fresh, Dried, Pickled and Oil) and is rich in Calcium, Vitamins (A & C), Manganese, Iron & Folates.

Simple ways to cook Dill:
We’ve got a ton of ideas for you to choose from. Read on!
